Human beings cannot be treated as animals and then expected to function normally in society upon release. And remember 95% of those in prison will be released. It is not only the mark of an uncivilized and barbaric society that would approve, allow and inflict this type of suffering of ANY human being, but it also endangers the entire society itself.
